Probing the transition from non-localization to localization by K-shell photoemission from isotope-substituted N2

چکیده
The inversion symmetry of a system causes non-local, coherent behaviour of the otherwise localized core holes in homonuclear diatomic molecules such as N2. This non-locality of the electron emission and the remaining core hole changes in a continuous way into partially localized behaviour if a gradual breakdown of the inversion symmetry is induced by isotope substitution. This is reflected by the loss of interference and the parity mixing of the outgoing photoelectron waves. This is the first experimentally observed isotope effect on the electronic structure of a diatomic molecule. © 2001 Elsevier Science. All rights reserved

متن کاملAssessment of Ultrasound / Radio-guided Occult Lesion Localization in Non-palpable Breast Lesions
Objective(s): Controversy exists about the localization of non-palpable breast lesions. In many countries, the gold standard for the diagnosis of these lesions is needle localization due to its accuracy. This study sought to compare the ultrasoundand radio-guided occult lesion localization (ROLL) as a simple method with the conventional procedures in terms of their diagnostic power. Methods: Th...
متن کاملLocalization of Determinants of Fertility through Measurement Adaptations in Developing-Country Settings: The Case of Iran; Comment on “Analysis of Economic Determinants of Fertility in Iran: A Multilevel Approach”
Studies investigating fertility decline in developing countries often adopt measures of determinants of fertility behavior developed based on observations from developed countries, without adapting them to the realities of the study setting. As a result, their findings are usually invalid, anomalous or statistically non-significant. This commentary draws on the research article by Moeeni and co...
متن کاملApplication of Case I and Case II of Hill’s 1979 Yield Criterion to Predict FLD
Forming limit diagrams (FLDs) are calculated based on both the Marciniak and Kuczynski (M-K) model and the analysis proposed by Jones and Gillis (J-G). J-G analysis consisted of plastic deformation approximation by three deformation phases. These phases consisted of homogeneous deformation up to the maximum load (Phase I), deformation localization under constant load (phase II) and local necki...
متن کاملNatural scene text localization using edge color signature
Localizing text regions in images taken from natural scenes is one of the challenging problems dueto variations in font, size, color and orientation of text. In this paper, we introduce a new concept socalled Edge Color Signature for localizing text regions in an image. This method is able to localizeboth Farsi and English texts. In the proposed method rst a pyramid using diff...
